Welcome to Trail Running
What you’ll find on this site, brought to you by the team behind Trail Running magazine, is reviews on running gear, training advice from industry experts and masses of routes for you to follow, but also inspirational stories, images and videos to encourage you to get outside and explore. Getting off the beaten track isn’t as tricky as it might seem, and just as rewarding as you can imagine.
Even though Chris O'Hare is used to timing splits to fractions of a second on an oval Mondo surface, he jumps at the chance to forget about the watch and experience running in its purest form.
The world's most prestigious mountain race kicks off from Chamonix at 6pm (France time) today. Several build-up races have already taken place, but the Ultra Trail du Tour du Mont Blanc is what the eyes of the trail running world are fixed on.
We really do it!
Trail Running is staffed by people who genuinely love the sport and everything outdoors. Editor Paul Larkins is a former international middle-distance runner who has spent most of his career running on the trails. He has run across the Grand Canyon rim to rim, up the Pike Peaks, and now spends most of his lunchtimes striding along the banks of the River Nene. Staff writer Paul Halford has competed for Wales in the Commonwealth Trail Championships and one of his most memorable experiences was running the Himalayan 100-Mile Stage Race.
