Most of us have to squeeze in our trail running wherever it will fit. If you work in an office, lunch breaks are great for this, helping you break up the day and get some much needed fresh air and movement. Drink water throughout the morning and have a snack around 11am to stave off the grumbling stomach.
Prepare well to make the most of your time, says Debbie: “Most people are restricted to an hour, so have your kit ready and bring your lunch in with you, so you don’t need to stop off on the way back. If your lunchtime is flexible, don’t procrastinate. Set a time to leave or arrange to meet a running companion. Otherwise, before you know it, you’re caught up with work and it will be 2pm before you’re out the door – if at all. If you work in a city, choose a route around a park or canal, or you'll spend most of the time standing at traffic lights. Go out and enjoy – nothing tastes better than a well-earned lunch."
