The seventh edition of the Saucony Peregrine is a comfortable and responsive trail shoe. The outsole looks very aggressive but is best on dry trails and grass, struggling a bit in mud, where it clogs up quickly. When dry it runs very well, with a nice amount of cushioning and a 4mm drop, which feels neutral and responsive off- or even on-road. The upper is lightly padded, with a RunDry collar designed to help wick sweat away from the foot. The cut is excellent: a standard volume, width and length with a good lacing system and padded tongue, which allows you to fully adjust the shoe to a perfect fit.
VERDICT: A great everyday training shoe that’s particularly good for summer trails.
