With a heel height of 27mm and forefoot of 17mm, these Salomon's provide ample cushioning against rough mountain terrain. ProFeel film on the sole protects your foot from sharp objects and its benefit is certainly felt. This does mean they err on the heavier side, but for that they give great protection and stability. The shoe has pronounced bridge support to prevent pronation, which, with a 10mm drop, can put some pressure through the mid-foot. They stuck to the slippery trails well with aggressive lugs, and the Sensifit technology wraps around and cradles the foot preventing movement – especially beneficial on the downhill.
Arch support caused hotspots, but you can’t beat how indestructible they feel.
