One of the comfiest and lightest shoes on test, the NIKE Wildhorse 3 will certainly put a spring in your step. The only thing that let’s this shoe down is the grip: it will definitely do the job on hard-pack or loose grit trails but, as an all-year shoe, it does struggle with soft mud. The tread curls up to form a small toe bumper and the mesh upper feels durable, but don’t expect too much protection for your foot. It would have been nice to have a gusseted tongue to keep out debris but the lacing system is excellent, securing the foot comfortably in place without adding weight. The ride is luxurious with an extremely well cushioned midsole.
Not the toughest shoe but ideal for grit paths or as a light summer trail shoe.
