Vest 190g (men’s L)

The R3 feels worth its price: well made and well designed with quality fabrics and great attention to detail. It teams a polyester fabric with a windproof Gore Windstopper membrane, creating a stiff but protective gilet. Cut with an athletic fit and finished off with a brushed collar, zipped hand warmer pockets and reflective detail.

Verdict: Quality, durable, protective, and feels built to last.

Half-zip 250g (men’s M)

A wind and water-resistant polyamide outer fabric over zoned grid-fleece creates a comfortable wind shell. It’s the warmest jacket on test, perfect for the colder months but also breathable thanks to the lower wind-resistance of the fabric and side panels. A zipped chest pocket, adjustable hem and elasticated cuffs finish it off.
Verdict: Warm, comfortable and protective – great for winter.

150g (men’s M)
This jacket combines polyamide windproof and water-resistant fabric with breathable merino wool and polyester mix under-arm panels; making it protective and comfortable. It’s cut quite long in the body with a comfortable and stylish regular fit. The zipped chest pocket is handy, and shoulder vents add to the breathability.

Verdict: Protective, breathable and stylish with faultless features.

160g (men’s M)
This wind and water-resistant polyester jacket offers decent protection at a good price. The cut should fit most runners and the zipped chest pocket, reflective details and venting on the back and under the arms make it comfortable to run in. We like the colours and design, but some of the stitching isn’t very neat.

Verdict: Ideal trail running jacket: small, light, protective, good value.
