Ask the expert: New year, new you!

The new year is a perfect time to set fresh goals and challenges for the months ahead. And with the introduction of new lockdown restrictions, there has never been a better time to prioritise your physical health and mental well-being

by Ben Mounsey | athlete Ben Mounsey gives his top tips for the new year

1. Go digital

In the absence of organised races, the next best thing is to use a digital platform like Strava to help keep you focused. Compete in virtual challenges, set personal targets and become part of an online community by joining clubs like the Run Club.

2. Challenge yourself

Set yourself a personal challenge to help keep you motivated.

Why not try this 15-minute challenge? The rules are simple: record at least 15 minutes of daily exercise, which can include any form of activity and intensity, eg a family walk, a trail run or a bike ride. Speed and distance are irrelevant – the most important thing is to make time to enjoy regular physical exercise.

3. Get inspired

Check out the Running Hub, designed to help improve your training and keep you informed about all relevant and current topics in the world of running. From information about the latest running products, to top-tips and advice from our team of dedicated experts - you can’t fail to be inspired!
