Three of Britain's top ultra trail runners are among the speakers announced for the Keswick Mountain Festival on May 20-22.
John Kelly, Debbie Martin-Consani and James Gibson will feature in the "Extreme Ultra Running and FKTs" section of the programme at 7.30pm on the Saturday (May 21) at the Theatre by the Lake.
The yearly outdoor adventure festival, which was founded in 2007, will also include a wide variety of races, including the Rab Skiddaw Vertical, 5k, 25k and 50k.
Kelly will be talking abut his many ultra-running achievements, including his fastest-known time for the 260-mile Pennine Way. Also being interviewed on stage will be Martin-Consani, who has represented Britain at 100k and completed events such as the Tor des Geants, Spartathlon and UTMB. Lakes local Gibson will also be on hand to speak about his exploits, having recently achieved a continuous round of the 214 Wainwrights peaks - believed to be a winter first.
Festival director Nicola Meadley said: “The speaker programme is always a highlight of Keswick Mountain Festival and we’re thrilled with the line-up we’re able to present in the Theatre by the Lake this year. There’s something for anyone who has a passion for the outdoors – they’re going to be treated to some wonderful stories and truly stunning images.”
Tickets for the KMF speaker line-up are available here and cost £10 or £15 each, depending on the session.
