Windsor Great Park in Berkshire has topped a list of the "most popular running destinations".
Research by supplement brand Nutrimuscle ranked locations based on Google searches, plus hashtags on TikTok and Instagram, has come up with the top 21, which include places such as Pennine Way and the South West Coast Path.
The 4800-acre Windsor Great Park, where runners can explore tree-lined allées, a lake loop, huge lawns and forested trails totalled more than 572,000 searches and hashtags.
Elan Valley in Powys was in second place (12 out of 63) with just 285,000 hashtags and searches combined. The Mid Wales valley covers an area over 72 square miles.
In third was the Pennine Way, the iconic 268-mile route from Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders to Edale in Derbyshire. This route gathered 202,000 hashtags and searches.
Richard Mortimer at Nutrimuscle said regarding the research: “We’ve seen a huge spike in customers who have purchased supplements to help them with their running, especially supplements to help them recover, and we thought it would be interesting to see where the most popular running routes were in the UK."
