Once the firm favourite of fell runners, these shoes are still handmade in Bolton. The uppers are made of fast-drying, water-resistant material, whilst the stiff outsole uses Walsh’s registered pyramid grip pattern. A drop of 6mm gave enough precision for uneven terrain and sufficient cushioning for harder ground. The fit felt narrow, and these were the tightest of all of the shoes on test. The 7mm lugs gave excellent grip, particularly on wet grass. An affordable, no-frills shoe for training or racing over a range of terrains.

If it ain’t broke! Still a great shoe for all conditions.
